Our Staff
Allegheny Orthotics and Prosthetics began its operation in Johnstown in
1976 under the name of Johnstown Artificial Limb and Brace Company. The
company was founded by John Roberts Sr. and his son Charles E. Roberts.
In 1983 after completing his Orthotic and Prosthetic education at
Northwestern University, John A. Roberts, Jr. joined the company. By
this time the company had a second location in DuBois. Then in 1986
opened a third office in Altoona, Pa.
On January 1, 2000, John formed John Roberts Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a
"Allegheny Orthotics and Prosthetics" with the Altoona and DuBois
divisions. In order to better accommodate our patients, we saw the need
and opened a third location in State College in January 2003. In January
2006, we opened our Bedford County office.
Allegheny Orthotics and Prosthetics is accredited by the American Board of
Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and is a member of the American
Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. Our four offices employ highly
trained staff members made up of Certified Orthotic and Prosthetic
Professionals, Registered Technicians, skilled Technicians and
Administrative and Office Personnel.
